Our area deserves to have artists like Suede, Kate Clinton, Julie Goldman, Judy Gold, The Kinsey Sicks and others come to our local area more frequently. We have such a strong, devoted LGBT population and I believe through these performances our (LGBT people) profiles are raised. More awareness is brought to our local presence. Our coming together at these shows strengthens the LGBT sense of community. It's rewarding to witness people who have not seen each other in years smile and embrace in the audience. We're all so busy and distracted on a day to day basis...being able to get LGBT crowds as large as five or six hundred together in a venue to enjoy a show is truly a wonderful thing. You can really feel the energy pulsing and see connections being made. Not to mention that proceeds from events such as these allow us to make donations to important causes like "Relay for Life", present scholarships to local LGBT students and support other worthwhile LGBT issues. On Saturday, May 7th at 8 pm, the sultry song stress SUEDE will be appearing at THE NYACK CENTER, 58 Depew Avenue in Nyack, New York. Her appearance is long overdue as the talented singer and musician has not been back to her roots, where it all began, in a few years. This amazing pop.jazz.blues vocalist and musician has a style that had often been compared to a blend of other greats including Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole and Diana Krall...but, truthfully...she is a knock-out all on her own. SUEDE has been dazzling audiences for a very long time and this year marks her 30th anniversary of performing...May 7th is going to be a great night for the "DIVA"...and everyone who comes to see her. Let's break into flash mobs of song and dance for no apparent reason...If the whole world’s going down, we might as well be gleeful and gay. "Want to talk about hysterical?
